Laura Zapata, sister of the late writer Ernestina Sodi, distanced herself from the tragedy they experienced together in 2002. In front of journalists, the actress expressed her pain over the loss: "Very sad, something very painful that in some way reminds us that we are finite in this life."

Zapata also commented that, despite not having plans to attend the funeral, she would send a floral arrangement on behalf of the Sodi-Zapata family for her to rest in peace. "The only thing I can tell you is that we will not cry for her death, but we will celebrate her life," concluded the actress.

Although Laura Zapata got involved in controversy due to her statements, an incident related to her vehicle captured media attention. The truck she was driving had no plates, which revived previous criticisms for not verifying her car and accumulating 72 fines in 2016, according to the Environmental Secretary at that time.

This situation generated negative comments towards Zapata, with some questioning why she was allowed to drive without plates. The situation went viral on social media, where some users expressed their disapproval of the actress's behavior regarding this matter.

Despite the controversy, Laura Zapata faced the media while in her truck and was questioned about the death of her sister Ernestina Sodi. However, it was the lack of plates on her vehicle that caught the attention of online viewers.

Ernestina Sodi passed away on Saturday, November 9, after suffering two heart attacks that severely affected her health.
